THE MAY 12TH WORKSHOP HAS BEEN CANCELED – STAY TUNED FOR ANOTHER DATE!
This is a half day workshop that incorporates therapeutic movement that is designed to align, restore and awaken your body, mind and spirit. Three expert presenters guide you through exercises as a group. Laura Probert’s section, Total Motion Release, will teach you how to find and correct the asymmetries in you body for a system that is more balanced and less likely to be injured. Maggie Wong will then teach you how to use the massage balls for self myofascial release, helping to elongate and restore any restrictions that you may have in the muscle and fascial tissue. Lastly, Lisa Johnson will guide us through her section called full body expression, which incorporates breathing, voice and creative dance movements which will awaken the heart and leave you feeling inspired!

“They say good things happen in threes and this workshop proves it! Do not miss this awesome powerhouse of three who will introduce you to new ways of thinking and taking care of yourself or add more possibilities to a self treatment plan you may already have in place. As a participant in the first Healing Moves workshop, I can truly say you will live more freely as you learn to become a more involved partner with yourself. The effects of the personal attention and the genuine commitment to your well being and good health taught by Laura, Maggie and Lisa is priceless. Don’t miss it.” Diane
“The workshop helped me become more mindful of how I can integrate motion and peacefulness into my daily lifestyle in order to optimize balance and good vibes. The class was loads of fun in the tranquil studio with a stunning, scenic view. And the teachers were terrific! I enjoyed that people of all ages and activity levels joined together for the afternoon of healing moves.” Emily
Therapeutic Exercise Class
This class was developed for people who are struggling with pain or injury and are unable to participate in a regular exercise class. It is a combination of Total Motion Release exercises to find and correct asymmetries in the body that can be causing restriction and pain, self treatment exercises using the straps and balls to stretch, elongate and release the body’s tight restricted tissue, light conditioning exercises to get the blood flowing and improve strength, and body awareness exercises for relaxation.
The class runs on Tuesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and is located at The Carderock Swim and Tennis Club, 8200 Hamilton Spring Ct., Bethesda, MD 20817
Fee $20 for one class, or $15 each if you purchase six classes at once.

“Therapeutic exercise has changed my life. It has taught me to slow down, breathe, unclench and listen to what has gone wrong to discover where the problem actually is. Laura is the best detective to help solve the mystery of what hurts, and most importantly, why. To have a teacher with a degree in physical therapy cuts through the guesswork and right to the heart of the matter…and then we can let the healing begin!” Sherri
“When Laura first introduced me to her idea of a therapeutic exercise class, I jumped (a result of Laura’s expertise) at the opportunity to be a participant. Laura’s class is so important to me and has been so beneficial that I have the next few months scheduled with Tuesdays off of work, just so I won’t miss the class. Laura’s individualized attention to your every need is golden. It is truly a class for your mind, body and soul.” Diane
