Laura completed her second pre-test on June 13, 2010 and Jonathan completed his on June 24th.

They are one step closer to earning their blackbelts in taekwondo!

The President’s Cup Taekwondo Challenge

Laura and Jonathan will compete in The President’s Cup Taekwondo Challenge coming up on June 5th at George Mason University. Events will include forms, board breaking and sparring. Wish them luck!

Lucky Number Seven

On Saturday May 15th I had a chance to drive a Nascar! This was a Christmas gift given to me by my husband, something I had always wanted to do! After learning the laws of the track and being suited up for driving, I had a chance to drive eight laps! It was a total blast. The only question is when I can do it again.

Latest Continuing Education Accomplishments

Laura recently traveled to Sedona, AZ where she completed a class titled Myofascial Unwinding given by John Barnes. This was her third class in the myofascial release curriculum. Myofascial release is a hands-on technique that helps release deep tissue restrictions in the body.

Laura also completed “Impingement and Instability”, a class given by Ron Hruska, the founder of the Postural Restoration Institute. This was the fourth class taken by Laura in this curriculum which focuses on balancing the asymmetries in the musculoskeletal system of the body.

Laura will race in the Backyard Burn

Racers will navigate a 5 or 10 mile course of trails in Fairfax Station, VA on Sunday March 28th. The race is one in a series of four events that are put on over the Spring season.

Laura and Jonathan now have their second black stripe!

Jonathan finished his three hour test on 11/21/09. He broke his board with a back kick!

Laura finished her four hour test on 1/16/10. She broke two boards with a jump side kick and one board with a jump back kick.
